This
area is in a transitional zone
between dry forest climate and
tropical rain forest. The wildlife
on the land is common to both
ecosystems.
The
land is rich in wildlife and
contains a wide variety of birds,
insects, mammals and vegetation,
including three endangered and
several rare species.
There
are in excess of 140 different
types of birds including frigate
birds, herons, hawks, vultures,
kites, falcons, pigeons, doves,
parrots, parakeets, owls, cuckoos,
swifts, swallows, hummingbirds,
kingfishers, woodpeckers, toucans,
wood creepers, flycatchers,
pewees, wrens, thrushes, magpies,
warblers, water thrushes, sparrows
and blackbirds.
In
addition to more than 40 types
of butterflies, this land is
home to white faced capuchin
monkeys, and howler monkeys,
squirrels, porcupines, agoutis,
toads, frogs, lizards, iguana,
river shrimp, opossums, tamanduas,
armadillos, coyotes, raccoons,
coatis, tayras, margays, peccaries,
white tailed deer, ocelots,
tigrillos and wild boar.
There
are a variety of fruits and
vegetables including, papayas,
lemons, oranges, mamones, cashews,
almonds, coconuts, capolines,
avocados, coffee, plantain,
bananas, passion fruit, star
fruit, guavas and mangos and
more.
The
property is varied and ranges
from pasture land, hills, and
woodland to primary forest with
orchids, precious woods and
teak.
There
is a river and many brooks,
also several fresh water mountain
springs and 6 waterfalls, one
of which is 150 meters high.
It
also includes of primary forest. An
inventory of the flora and fauna,
mammals, birds and butterflies
has been completed.
